Sri Lanka has been a growing hub of technology over the past few decades, with the IT industry expanding by leaps and bounds. New products and services are bought into the limelight as new companies, ranging from small startups to multinational organizations spearheading the innovation and disruption. Seeing this in full effect, the non-profit body which came to be called the Computer Society of Sri Lanka (CSSL) was established in 1976 for the purpose of promoting information and communication technology and professionalism among those engaged in this field. The CSSL aims to maintain the highest professional standards among the information and communication technology fraternity. The CSSL is considered the apex body for ICT professionals in Sri Lanka as it is also the Sri Lankan representative in the South East Asia Regional Computer Confederation (SEARCC) which is the forum of national Information Technology professional societies in the Asia Pacific region.
