Sysco LABS’s engineering teams based out of Colombo, Sri Lanka and Austin and Houston, TX, innovate across the entire food service journey – from the enterprise grade technology that enables Sysco’s business, to the technology that revolutionizes the way that Sysco connects with restaurants and the technology that shapes the way those restaurants connect with customers.

Sysco LABS technology is present in the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network, the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer and much more.

We are currently on the lookout for an Intern – Diversity and Inclusion to join our team.

The Role:  

  • Collaborate with the D&I team and senior leadership to drive process and program improvements in the D&I space.
  • Implement strategies for retaining, engaging, and promoting diverse talent.
  • Partner with D&I organizations to push forward our D&I training strategy to associates.
  • Thought partner to our D&I team – thinking outside the box and help drive innovative ideas.
  • Improve engagement and impact with D&I entities and other external groups, enabling authentic relationship-building with diverse talent.
  • Support diversity programs and events that drive Sysco LABS’ D&I strategy and goals.
  • Research external developments in the field of diversity and inclusion to keep the team and other stakeholders informed.

The Profile: 

  • We are looking for a graduate who is keen to develop a career in Diversity and Inclusion and who can demonstrate an interest/ experience within this area.
  • A passion for Diversity & Inclusion and intellectual curiosity to learn more.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to research and summarise complex or extensive subject matter, taking onboard information from a number of sources and produce engaging and informative communications.
  • Ability to work on own initiative / unsupervised and plan and organise own time to meet varying priorities.
  • Pursuing a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Business Administration, or a similar field.
