Sysco LABS’ software engineering team is at the forefront of technology innovation in enterprise and customer-facing applications. The size and complexity of our product suite requires us to evaluate and utilize many of the latest tools, technologies and standards in the industry. 
We choose technologies that are a fit for our solutions, are supported by the community, and secure and scalable enough for enterprise. We also use a wide range of cloud computing solutions from AWS, Azure and GCP, and build cloud-native solutions to cater to the high scale, reliability, and resilience of enterprise solutions. These include elastic computing solutions using containerizations, high performance open-source databases in the cloud, cloud-based DevSecOps tools etc.

The security of digital solutions is of paramount importance to Sysco, and we treat security as an umbrella activity that spans from requirements to production and beyond. Our engineers stay up-to-date on cyber security practices, secure coding practices, implementation and maintenance of secure infrastructure and runtimes.

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- The design and development of enterprise solutions for one of the world’s largest corporations 
- Implementing distributed and highly available enterprise applications that scale for enterprise demands

## REQUIREMENTS 
 
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and 3+ years of experience in developing enterprise applications 
- Extensive experience with the .NET/.NET Core stack and C# as a language, along with hands-on knowledge on RESTful APIs, microservices, performance optimizations, enterprise integration principles and modern deployment strategies (containerization principles) 
- An in-depth understanding of relational databases, schema design and SQL optimization, along with sufficient knowledge on NoSQL databases (MongoDB) 
- Exposure to Azure DevOps features (Git based version controlling, deployment pipelines, documentation) will work in favor of the candidate 
- Hands-on experience in front-end development with React/Redux will be an added advantage 
- Experience with standard industrial best practices on unit, integration and performance testing is required; knowledge using Cypress as a testing framework will be beneficial 
- Previous exposure to working with the Optimizely CMS (Episerver) software platform will be beneficial 
- Excellent communication skills are required, preferably with experience working in a multi-cultural environment 
- Familiarity with working in a Scrum Agile delivery environment and standard Quality Engineering processes and practices are expected

Quality Engineering

At Sysco LABS, we take a holistic approach to quality engineering. Not limited to merely testing our products at the end of the development lifecycle, our quality engineers engage in all stages of the development process and are an integral part of our engineering teams rather than an outside entity.
 
 
Just like our products, our quality process is under continuous improvement. QE involvement in the development process begins at its inception - we perform a detailed analysis and elaboration of the feature requirements outlined by business analysts. In this sense, our quality engineers are domain experts to an extent.
 
 
Quality engineers are the driving force of software quality in our engineering teams. They often discuss the detailed requirements with developers in feature walkthrough meetings to ensure everyone is on the same page, and that the product and test suite arise from the same requirement source. This minimizes the likelihood of test-product mismatches, an all too common problem in the software industry.

While tests are considered common assets (the entire team has access to them and are expected to utilize them in their work), it is the QEs who develop and maintain the test suites. Despite the size and complexity of our product suite, 70-90% of our testing is automated. This eliminates much of the day-to-day drudgery of the traditional quality engineer, freeing their minds to focus on product quality in a more intelligent manner.

## WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 

- Creating and enhancing test cases and executing them with limited supervision 
- Providing constructive feedback on test cases/test plans developed by Junior team members 
- Reviewing functional and non-functional requirements and specifications 
- Producing test Artifacts such as Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Cases, and Test Metrics reports 
- Debugging and troubleshooting issues, analyzing root causes with relevant tools, and logging defects in the defect tracking system with adequate information 
- Working closely with development teams to shake out bugs early in the development process

## REQUIREMENTS 
 
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent qualification 
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in software testing 
- Experience in test planning, test design, and functionality testing 
- Expert knowledge of quality engineering methodologies, automated testing tools (Selenium/ Appium), and continuous integration systems 
- Experience in QE tools such as QMetry, HP ALM, JIRA, and Confluence 
- Strong knowledge of Java, OOP concepts and coding standards 
- Must be skilled at evaluating existing processes and procedures and making recommendations for improvement; designing Proof of Concepts that best fit company needs 
- A solid practical understanding of Agile Software Testing and Software Engineering concepts 
- Effective communication (oral and written) skills including problem-solving, prioritizing, and interpersonal relationship building 
- Exposure to API testing and performance testing are optional

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- Providing technical quality engineering leadership and expertise to multiple engineering teams 
- Playing a key role in evangelizing a full-stack quality engineering philosophy within the organization, uplifting standards in test automation, performance engineering, security testing and overall testing processes 
- Taking responsibility for the selection of test strategy for projects and providing guidance and recommendations to teams on achieving the optimum testability (Test Automation, Performance Engineering & Security Testing) 
- Providing technical QE direction to Quality Engineers in adherence to coding, quality, functionality, performance, scalability and on-time delivery standards 
- Supporting QE teams in test estimations, planning, test design, reporting and matrices in order to achieve quality in deliveries 
- Reviewing test scenarios and automated test scripts and providing guidance for continuous improvement on a regular basis 
- Staying up-to-date with emerging trends in quality engineering, while supporting the organization in evaluating suitable strategies and steer feasibility study initiatives 
- Training and mentoring Quality Engineers to uplift standards and to bring testing productivity into test strategies 
- Driving tool selection and overseeing the development of test infrastructure across projects 
- Working collaboratively with Engineering, Product, Project Management, and UI/UX teams to review requirements, architecture and designs to ensure comprehensive testability can be achieved 
- Mentoring, coaching and leading a team of Quality Engineers 

## REQUIREMENTS 
 
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification and 9+ years of industry experience 
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience playing a similar role, or experience handling multiple projects and clients in diversified technology spectrums 
- Strong knowledge of quality engineering practices and processes 
- Expert knowledge of agile software testing practices, test design techniques and test reporting 
- Experience working in an Agile and DevOps environment and strong knowledge in software engineering concepts 
- Experience in solving software test automation challenges with a pragmatic approach 
- Experience in building web and mobile test automation frameworks using open-source tools such as Selenium and Appium

The Senior Cyber Analyst will be responsible for executing supplier assessments supporting Sysco’s global Cybersecurity Supplier IT Risk Management (SITRM) Program. 

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- Executing security risk assessments and analysis of suppliers across all stages of the supplier lifecycle and partnering with global vendor management teams, technology, and business functions to educate and communicate cyber risk

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- Adhering to the Windows desktop images standards, deployment methods and use of supporting tools and technologies: Infrastructure – storage, networking, servers, load balancing, etc.; Anti-virus and Profile management

## REQUIREMENTS

- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTFS, and management desired, but not required. 
- Experience in ADFS, AD Connect, Certificate management and Group Policies 
- Functional knowledge of VMware Horizon, VMware vSphere, EMC VNX, Cisco UCS, Microsoft, VMC on AWS, VMC on Azure, Windows Operating Systems and Windows as a Service, are desired.

## THE OPPORTUNITY 
 
We're currently seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to oversee the operations engineering team within the Sysco IT Service Management (ITSM) team located in Sri Lanka. In this role, you'll collaborate with ITSM leads to enhance ITSM processes through task automation, tool development or acquisition, and consultation with service teams to enhance service availability. You'll also be responsible for defining global monitoring standards and managing SRE dashboards. 

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Operations Engineering team based in Sri Lanka. 
- Own and take responsibility for the design and maintenance of the incident management and other ITSM dashboards in ServiceNow. 
- Develop or acquire new tools to help automate ITSM processes to minimize manual interaction and reduce production incidents.  
- Design, build and enhance event detection and management tools as required. 
- Work with Change Analysts to modernize the ITIL change management process, help facilitate service owners to deliver new changes to production using lightweight change management processes. 
- Understand the product/services stack and provide recommendations for product operations, change management and monitoring. 
- Work with ITSM leadership to analyze critical incidents and provide recommendations to avoid repetitions of such incidents.  
- Define monitoring criteria for service teams and onboard service teams to the Sysco centralized monitoring platform.   
- Mentor and guide junior members of the team. 

## REQUIREMENTS 
 
- 5+ years of experience in operations engineering, software engineering, or a DevOps discipline. 
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
- Sound knowledge in Software engineering practices and the ability to review code when required; understand incident RCAs. 
- Experience working and developing with JavaScript - HTML5, Jelly, jQuery, Node and AngularJS. 
- Working experience in ServiceNow.  
- Previous working experience in Dynatrace and Datadog. 
- The ability to clearly articulate technical solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences. 
- Experience in working as a part of a geographically distributed team. 
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
- Technical knowledge and experience in: Windows/Linux environments, SQL, Active Directory, Scripting, etc., Network troubleshooting knowledge including LAN/WAN, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, and Routing, AWS/Azure

We are currently on the lookout for a competent, self-motivated Senior Engineer/Engineer – Cloud Services for our Cloud Services team with a deep understanding of Windows Systems, Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP to collaborate, lead change, automate and inspire teams towards delivery excellence at Sysco LABS.

## RESPONSIBILITIES
 
- Driving infrastructure provisioning, deployment, architecture reviews and monitoring tools that will support, enhance and grow an advanced infrastructure support model for Sysco’s multi-cloud environments 
- Working with product engineering teams to design, develop, operate, and maintain secure, auto-scalable, highly available Windows-based cloud environments with the lowest total cost of ownership 
- Acting as SME for Windows and Azure and GCP-based workloads, providing solutions to problems, handling migrations, and troubleshooting any issues in a timely manner 
- Patching management and coordinating patch schedules with other teams such as Security, Change management, Incident management and Dev teams 
- Working with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible and Kubernetes for cloud operations work on Azure, AWS and GCP 
- Improving our knowledge-base and engineering standards through documentation 
- Ensuring the security of all Sysco LABS’ infrastructure, data, applications and configurations 
- Automation and scripting via PowerShell, Python, Bash, Cloud Formation or Terraform 
- Systems Alert Monitoring and proactively managing systems and application issues 
- Working on a roster covering 24x7 support to our end users   

## REQUIREMENTS 
 
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
- Certifications on Microsoft Azure, Hands-on experience architecting and deploying Microsoft Azure environments, including hybrid scenarios, optimizing cost/capacity ratios, proper monitoring, scaling, implementing, and validating database & DR scenarios, and Azure security 
- The ability to learn and work in a multi-cloud environment with an ‘always learning’ attitude to support applications on various cloud platforms 
- Certifications in Windows Systems and 1 to 3 years of proven experience as a Windows administrator 
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work successfully in an Agile, DevOps team environment 
- The ability to utilize scripting languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell 
- Excellent knowledge of networking and containerization 
- Knowledge of middle-tier applications including all web servers such as IIS, Nginx, Cache software and monitoring technologies such as New Relic and DataDog will be an added advantage 
- Strong oral, written, and presentation capabilities, and the ability to convey risk to all levels of the business, from executives to operations and development teams 
- Certifications in the areas of AWS, GCP or Networking will be an added advantage

- Designing and developing re-usable components and operational strategies in the cloud and datacenters to support scalability, high-availability, performance, monitoring, backup, restoring, etc.  
- Acting as SME for Linux based workloads, providing solutions to problems, handling migrations, and troubleshooting any issues in a timely manner

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- Researching, evaluating and recommending DevOps tools in multiple technologies for multiple development teams 
- Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing AWS cloud-based production systems, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems 
- Building, releasing and configuration management of production systems that need to be supported 24* 7 uptime 
- Ensuring critical system security using the best-in-class cloud security solutions 
- Coaching development teams in DevOps practices and guiding the team to implement effective DevOps 
- Working collaboratively in a cross-functional team in an Agile delivery environment 
- Being involved in projects throughout their full software lifecycle: from development, QA, and deployment, to post-production support 
   
## REQUIREMENTS 
 
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and 2-4 years of experience in DevOps 
- A strong knowledge of AWS cloud computing and AWS DevOps tools 
- Strong knowledge in fundamental DevOps tools such as AWS DevOps tools, Terraform, Jenkins, GoCD, GitHub, Nagios, Chef etc. 
- Strong knowledge on containerization of software packages using solutions such as Dockerization, Kubernetes, AWS ECS and AWS Fargate, etc. 
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting DevOps tools in production systems 
- Adherence to engineering standards, best practices – must be process-oriented 
- Strong communication skills – reading and comprehending documents/specifications, producing clear and thorough documentation, and the ability to discuss and explain technical issues during meetings 
- 1+ years of experience with at least one dynamic object-oriented programing language like Groovy, Ruby or Python; Experience with a programming language like Java, C#, Node.js JavaScript and related web frameworks will be an added advantage
