THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently on the lookout for a Technical Lead – Android to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working on apps that revolutionize customer interaction at Sysco

Being responsible for driving the development process from conception to release in a cross functional team in an Agile delivery environment

Starting at the ground level and develop the future of Sysco’s customer experience

REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related, or equivalent work experience 

8 years of experience in custom software development with 6 years developing native Android  

A passion for Android and a commitment to building award-winning apps

Experience architecting Android applications utilizing industry trends and best practices 

Proficiency in Kotlin, RxJava, Coroutines and Jetpack Compose

Preferred experience with FRP (Functional Reactive Programming) 

Familiarity with publishing apps to Google Play 

A commitment to growing and mentoring junior team members 

A passion for building consumer facing applications with elegant and clean interfaces 

Knowledge of Node.js, GraphQL and Apollo is an added advantage 

A kind and generous attitude towards customers and coworkers alike 

A passion for code-quality and expertise in usability, and mobile standards 

Experience using SQL (like PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and NoSQL (like MongoDB, Couchbase, Postgress, Redis, etc.) databases  

4 years of experience with Agile and Test-Driven Development (TDD) 

4 years of experience utilizing Continuous Integration (CI) servers (like Jenkins or similar) for build and process automation (CD)
