Process
Process is all about being the "guardrails" to guide teams to deliver well with quality in a predictable manner. As the company gets larger, maintaining common standards and guidelines becomes vital. With multiple programs in different verticals catering to different stakeholders, a captive engineering center such as Sysco LABS requires some centralized governance. The process team is tasked with that.
The process team has done some automation to increase their efficiency and effectiveness, tools such as the Executive Dashboard (A leadership level dashboard that provides data in an easy to digest manner to make decision making simpler), BEACON (A dashboard that is available to anyone in the company to see how their team is performing on key metrics) and AMIT (a tool that automates some of the internal workflow of the team).
The Process team defines processes, trains, coaches, and conducts monthly assessments of teams on process compliance.
Being advocates for Agility a thorough knowledge of agile practices is essential while understanding the practical constraints in an enterprise software project environment. As champions for best practices and high quality, the team possess very good people skills, stakeholder management and persuasion skills.
