Sysco LABS technology is present in the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network, the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer and much more.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently on the lookout for a competent, self-motivated Engineer – Cloud Services for our Cloud Services team with a deep understanding of Windows Systems, Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP to collaborate, lead change, automate and inspire teams towards delivery excellence at Sysco LABS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving the infrastructure provisioning, deployment, architecture reviews and monitoring tools that will support, enhance and grow an advanced infrastructure support model for Sysco’s multi-cloud environments
Working with product engineering teams to design, develop, operate, and maintain secure, auto-scalable, highly available Windows-based cloud environments with the lowest total cost of ownership
Act as SME for Windows and Azure and GCP-based workloads, providing solutions to problems, handling migrations, and troubleshooting any issues in a timely manner
Patch management and coordinating patch schedules with other teams such as Security, Change Management, Incident Management and Dev teams
Working with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible and Kubernetes for cloud operation work on Azure, AWS and GCP
Improving our knowledgebase and engineering standards through documentation
Ensuring the security of all Sysco LABS’ infrastructure, data, applications, and configurations
Automation and scripting via PowerShell, Python, Bash, Cloud Formation or Terraform
Systems Alert Monitoring and proactively managing systems and application issues
Working on a roster covering 24x7 support to our end users
Providing remote support to users
Managing hardware/software vendor relationships and contract negotiations
Maintaining and adhering to cybersecurity policy, and ensuring client agents for discovery tools, security, and patch compliance agents are maintained at the most current versions
Training and assisting end users to effectively utilize the enterprise ITSM tool; coordinating new hire onboarding and setup, including providing desktops, laptops, monitors, and other IT needs of employees
Performing additional duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Certifications in Microsoft Azure, hands-on experience architecting and deploying Microsoft Azure environments, including hybrid scenarios, optimizing cost/capacity ratios, proper monitoring, scaling, implementing, and validating database & DR scenarios, and Azure security
The ability to learn and work in a multi-cloud environment with a continuous learning attitude to support applications on various cloud platforms
Certifications in Windows Systems and 1 to 2 years of proven experience as a Windows administrator
Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work successfully in an Agile, DevOps team environment
The ability to utilize scripting languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell
Excellent knowledge of networking and containerization
Knowledge of middle-tier applications including all web servers such as IIS, Nginx, Cache software and monitoring technologies such as New Relic and DataDog will be an added advantage
Strong oral, written, and presentation abilities, able to convey risk to all levels of the business, from executives to operations and development teams
Certifications in the areas of AWS, GCP or Networking will be an added advantage
