Sysco LABS technology is present in the sourcing of food products, merchandising, storage and warehouse operations, order placement and pricing algorithms, the delivery of food and supplies to Sysco’s global network, the in-restaurant dining experience of the end-customer and much more.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently on the lookout for an Engineer/Senior Engineer – Cloud Services to join our team and contribute to the Planning, designing and building of technical solutions and application controls in Public and Private Cloud as well as Linux-based workloads. The right candidate must be able to understand the needs for new initiatives and server build requirements to build secure, scalable, distributed and high-performance computing cloud-based platform solutions on Azure, AWS and Google. They should also be able to provide our clients with optimal solutions for critical issues, and to propose or recommend improvements in their work environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting Sysco’s multi-cloud infrastructure operations transformation process by implementing tools and processes for the creation of infrastructure, cloud provisioning, deployment, documentation and proactive monitoring
Acting as SME for Linux workloads, providing solutions to problems, handling migrations, and troubleshooting issues in a timely manner
Collaborating with product engineering teams to design, operate and maintain secure, scalable and highly available cloud environments with the lowest total cost of ownership; use engineering best practices to design, develop re-useable components and high operational strategies to support our cloud operations including scalability, high-availability, performance, monitoring, backup, restoring, etc.
Supporting cloud infrastructure change management processes and coordinating with other teams such as Security, Change Management, Incident Management and DevOps teams
Improving our knowledge base and engineering standards through documentation
Ensuring the security and compliance of all Sysco’s infrastructure, data, applications, and configurations via automation and scripting leveraging Ansible, Python, Bash, Cloud Formation or Terraform
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an appropriate related field is preferred; Equivalent work experience may be substituted for these education requirements
1-3 years of relevant experience in public cloud administration
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or any other main public cloud certificate
Proficiency in RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or other Linux distributions and having RHCSA certification or any other Linux administration-based certification would be an added advantage
Must possess working knowledge of tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, AWS Systems Manager, Cloud Formation, and Kubernetes for cloud operations work on Azure, AWS and GCP
Should have working experience with native cloud technologies, 3rd party automation tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Chef, Cloud Custodian, and automation/scripting via CLI including Python, Bash and Ansible
