THE OPPORTUNITY
We are currently on the lookout for Intern - People Operations (Learning & Development) to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with Training Program Development
Researching Training Needs: Assisting with identifying skill gaps across departments or teams by reviewing employee feedback, performance appraisals, and conducting surveys
Content Development Support: Helping create or update training materials, such as presentations, handouts, and e-learning modules, under the guidance of L&D specialists
Organizing Training Sessions: Coordinating logistics for internal training sessions, such as booking rooms, sending out invitations, preparing materials, and ensuring the technology (e.g., video conferencing tools) is working
- Supporting Training Delivery
Facilitation Assistance: Helping in the facilitation of workshops or training sessions, such as setting up equipment, distributing materials, or taking notes
Shadowing Facilitators: Observing senior trainers or HR specialists to learn best practices in training delivery and presentation
- Tracking Training Effectiveness
Collecting Feedback: Gathering post-training evaluations from participants to assess the effectiveness of training programs
Analyzing Feedback: Assisting in analyzing survey results and identifying trends or areas for improvement in the training process
Updating Training Records: Helping with the maintenance of training records, tracking completion rates, and generating reports on employee participation
- Supporting Employee Development Programs
Career Development: Assisting in the creation or management of career development programs, including mentorship initiatives, leadership programs, and skill-building workshops
Onboarding Support: Helping with the coordination of new employee onboarding programs, ensuring new hires receive the necessary training and resources
Assisting with Learning Platforms: Helping employees navigate online learning platforms and troubleshooting any issues they might encounter
- Administrative and Operational Support
Managing Documentation: Organizing and maintaining training files, schedules, and other relevant documentation for L&D activities
Scheduling Training Sessions: Coordinating schedules for training sessions or workshops, ensuring trainers, participants, and venues are aligned
Communication: Drafting emails, memos, or other communications to inform employees about upcoming training opportunities or initiatives
- Researching L&D Trends and Best Practices
Technology Research: Exploring the latest learning technologies (e.g., Learning Management Systems, virtual training tools) and helping assess their potential for the company
- Project Support
Assisting in Special Projects: Participating in special L&D projects, such as leadership development initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, or company-wide training rollouts
Metrics and Reporting: Supporting the analysis of training data (e.g., participation rates, assessment scores) and assisting in preparing reports for management
- Employee Engagement and Motivation
Promoting Learning Culture: Helping to foster a culture of continuous learning by communicating available resources and encouraging employees to take part in learning activities
Employee Recognition: Assisting in recognizing employees who complete training programs or achieve specific learning milestones
- Learning Administration Support
Maintaining Learning Portfolios: Helping employees maintain their personal learning portfolios by keeping track of certifications, workshops, and courses completed
Coordinating External Learning Resources: Assisting with liaising with external trainers or institutions for specialized courses or certifications
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s Degree (fully or partially completed) from a recognized local or foreign university or an equivalent qualification
Professional qualification in Human Resource Management (fully or partially completed) will be an added advantage
Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
An organized and highly detail-oriented personality
Capable of prioritizing work in a dynamic environment, whilst driving tasks through to completion
Excellent interpersonal skills
The ability to take ownership of and ensure a high level of quality in all assigned tasks, while working on strict deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
The ability to work effectively under pressure
Prior experience in the HR field will be an added advantage
