THE OPPORTUNITY

Sysco Corporation is a multi-cloud organization, and we are currently on the lookout for a competent, self-motivated Technical Lead - Cloud Services for our global Cloud Services team. As a member of Sysco’s Cloud Services team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure platform. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Azure architecture and a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Participating in architecture reviews of Azure environments, bringing in engineering best practices, leading changes and inspiring teams toward delivery excellence at Sysco
Designing, implementing, and managing highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translating them into cloud architecture design
Developing and maintaining cloud migration strategies, including assessing existing systems, identifying gaps, and recommending remediation plans
Ensuring the security, availability, and performance of Azure resources through proper design and configuration
Implementing and optimizing cloud-based solutions, including virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and identity management
Defining and enforcing cloud governance policies, including resource tagging, access controls, and cost management
Monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Azure infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance
Staying up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Azure and cloud computing technologies and providing recommendations for continuous improvement
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, develop cloud solutions, and ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud-based systems
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Working with DevOps and IaC tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Kubernetes
Ensuring the security and compliance of all Sysco’s infrastructure, data, applications, and configurations
Cloud adoption/migration strategies implementation for the Organization
Designing/Developing Scripts for Automation where appropriate

REQUIREMENTS

In-depth knowledge of Azure services and offerings, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Networking, and Azure Active Directory
Should have a successful track record in architecting, designing, implementing, and systems and infrastructure in a cloud computing environment including multi-cloud hybrid architectures
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent;  an Master’s Degree or relevant postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage
7+ years of industry experience and 3+ years of working experience with Azure cloud platform
Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Professional, with a strong focus on designing and implementing Azure-based solutions
Certified in Microsoft Azure Administrator or Architect Expert level
A solid understanding of different cloud environments and applications, including hybrid scenarios, optimizing cost/capacity ratios, scaling, implementing, and validating database & DR scenarios, security, and compliance
Knowledge of cloud security controls including conditional access policies, tenant isolation, encryption at rest, encryption in transit, key management, federated authentication vulnerability assessments, application firewalls, SIEM, etc.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Strong oral, written, and presentation abilities, able to convey risk to all levels of the business, from executives to operations and development teams.
